Film-making

I love film-making. I love using moving pictures to capture an emotional journey. I love stories. I love characters. I love all the quaint ways that we find meaning in the world and the beauty that film has as a medium to portray that. And comedy- I love that, too. Laughter, tears, suspense, captivation, motivation, inspiration, horror- all from sitting in front of a screen.

This is my passion.

I love the technical side, too. I love photography. I love beautiful, strange, abstract and sublime images and can be geeky about lenses and cameras because I'm in such awe of their power.

I love editing, coloring, effects, scoring.

I love it all.

I'm lucky to have something that I love.

Though, I make a living as a kindergarten teacher. It's not easy to make a living as a film-maker or maybe that's the self-defeating belief that I'm subconsciously using as an excuse for my current position in life. I don't know. But, having written this, I have reminded myself that I need to work at doing what I love and get busy making some films.
